Boot any Linux distro
from a single USB drive

i2PXE is a live Linux environment that lets you browse, download, and install distributions directly — no second machine required.

WebUSB flashing works in Chrome and Edge. All major distros supported.

How it works

1

Flash the drive

Use your browser to write i2PXE to a USB drive — or download the IMG and flash it yourself with dd or Rufus.

2

Boot into i2PXE

Plug the USB drive into any machine and boot from it. i2PXE launches a lightweight live environment.

3

Pick a distro

Browse available distributions, download the one you want, and install it — all from the same machine.

No second computer needed

Traditional tools like Ventoy require you to already have a working OS to download and copy disk images. i2PXE flips that: it's a self-contained live environment that can fetch and launch any distro on its own.

  • Network boot and HTTP download built in
  • Supports all major distributions
  • Reads existing disk images already on the drive
  • Open source, no telemetry
